In response to the April 27th tornado that struck Tuscaloosa, Schorndorf, Germany Mayor Klopfer placed flowers with a memorial tablet and black ribbons in front of the Town Hall (note the American flag). Click here to view a benefit concert held in Schorndorf for Tuscaloosa Tornado Relief.

Since 1986, the Tuscaloosa Sister Cities Commission has facilitated hundreds of productive partnerships through cultural, civic and educational exchanges.

Our Sister City relationship with Narashino, Japan, Schorndorf, Germany and
Sunyani-Techiman, Ghana continually enriches our community and its citizens, providing an avenue for the people in each city to develop friendly and mutually beneficial personal and professional relationships.

 The Tuscaloosa Sister Cities Commission exists to promote long term, global people-to-people relationships through the development of international leadership, friendship and understanding.  It seeks to facilitate productive partnerships with cultural, educational, and commercial entities.   The Commission provides an avenue for the people in each city to develop friendly and mutually beneficial personal and professional relationships, and to work together in facing the unique and diverse challenges and opportunities of the future.
